Comments: The Nike-class patrol corvette was designed to accompany (and be carried by) the Nemesis-class frigate on patrols of the Imperial border while conducting system security, border patrols, counter-piracy and anti-smuggling operations. The Nike-class provides an exceptionally agile and well-armed platform for security troops and customs inspectors to conduct ship inspections from, and an adequate anti-piracy platform. While traveling in jump space, the Nike is carried by the frigate and the crew conducts maintenance, training and preparations for the next mission. While in normal space, the corvettes operate in conjunction with the frigate in performance of the current mission.
